Here are the ten current Indian cricketers who have the highest incomes within the game:

Right from his international debut in 2008, Kohli has turned heads with his remarkable hunger to score runs and an unflinching consistency that has made him one of the modern greats of the game in a short span of time.
He single-handedly took India to the semi-finals of the World T20 earlier this year. He continued in the same vein in the IPL as well, inspiring the Royal Challengers Bangalore to within touching distance of their maiden title. He recently scored his maiden double-hundred in first class cricket in the ongoing West Indies-India Test series.

2. Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Total: Rs. 13.5 Crore)
Despite retiring from the longest format in late 2014, MS Dhoni continues to be one of the most powerful brands in Indian cricket. 5. SURESH RAINA (Total: Rs. 10 Crore)

6. GAUTAM GAMBHIR (Total: Rs.10 Crore)
Having played instrumental roles in the finals of India’s World Cup and World T20 triumphs, Gambhir experienced a slump in form post the 2011 World Cup. He was still a big name in the IPL, and was signed up by Kolkata Knight Riders that year. Despite having no BCCI contract, the KKR captain sits sixth on the list owing to his hefty IPL prize.

7. AJINKYA RAHANE (Total: Rs. 9 Crore)
Due to Rajasthan Royals’ suspension, Rahane joined was part of the pre-auction draft, and was signed up by Pune to play this season of the IPL. He ended up being the highest run getter for his team, and seventh overall, with 480 runs in 14 matches.

8. RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN (Total: Rs. 8.5 Crore)
He was signed up by Rising Pune Supergiants, one of the two new IPL franchises this season. He started off poorly, but finished with a couple of good matches to take his wickets-tally in this IPL to 10 from 14 matches.
Having made his Test debut in 2011, Ashwin is the fastest Indian bowler to take 50,100 and 150 Test wickets.

9. PAWAN NEGI (Total: Rs. 8.5 Crore)
A surprise entrant in this list, Pawan Negi has played just one international fixture, but managed to usurp the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Yuvraj Singh to this list on the basis of his dream IPL paycheck.
He was the most expensive Indian signing of IPL 2016, contracted by the Delhi Daredevils for a mind-boggling prize of Rs.8.5 crore. However, Negi ended up having a torrid season, managing just 57 runs and picking up a solitary wicket in eight games.

10. HARBHAJAN SINGH (Total: Rs. 8.25 Crore)
India’s most successful off-spinner, and part of the Mumbai Indians franchise since IPL’s inception, Harbhajan Singh, despite being out of favour from the national team, stands 10th on the list.
